15 batches of products were found to be unqualified, and the unqualified discovery rate was 14.9%.
Among them, 7 batches of products were unqualified for stability, 5 batches of products were unqualified for reciprocating wear of casters, and 4 batches of products for formaldehyde emission were unqualified.
What are the disqualifications?
1. The stability is unqualified and it is easy to tip over.
In this spot check, stability assessment is an important indicator, but this time, there are 7 batches of products that failed in stability.
What does this mean?
This means that an office chair with unqualified stability is prone to overturning when the user leans forward, leans back or sits sideways.
If it is light, it will cause the user to fall, and if it is serious, it may be bruised, causing relatively large personal injury.
2. Parts are unqualified and easy to break.
The most common swivel-style office chair in the office, from the casters to the base to the pneumatic lever that adjusts the lift, all products were found to be unqualified.
Among them, the five-star base of the office chair was directly broken by the test instrument during the static load test of the base.
In daily life, if this part breaks, it is likely to cause consumers to fall and cause personal injury.
In addition, the quality of the casters of the swivel office chair is not good enough, and it is easy to wear and tear.
3. The amount of formaldehyde is unqualified, which is easy to cause cancer.
At the same time, this spot check also tested the amount of formaldehyde released.
Formaldehyde, a colorless and irritating gas, has been designated as a Class I carcinogen by the World Health Organization.
Long-term low-concentration exposure to formaldehyde may cause dizziness and fatigue.
And when the concentration of formaldehyde is high, it is highly irritating and will cause toxicity to the nervous system, immune system, liver, etc.
Then think about the fact that migrant workers sit on chairs for so long a day, absorbing formaldehyde every day, and their bodies and health are double emptied.
4. Merchants cut corners and cut down on quantity, shoddy.
In response to the unqualified products discovered this time, the State Administration for Market Regulation has ordered the local market supervision departments to investigate and deal with them according to law.
The main reason for the unqualified products is that the merchants purchased raw materials of poor quality.
For example, caster raw materials, cheap ones may be 1 or 2 yuan, and expensive ones may be 10 yuan.
It can be found through experiments that if it is qualified, it will not be damaged after 100,000 times, and if the quality is poor, it may be broken after 10,000 to 20,000 times.
And the ultimate harm is the health of consumers.
The quality of the product is not up to standard, please complain and report together.
When consumers purchase unqualified products, they can negotiate with merchants to resolve them.
If the merchant does not agree to refund the compensation, consumers can collect evidence and directly complain to the industrial and commercial management department:
1. The original product, leftovers or photos;
2. Proofs of product manufacturers and sellers (product bills, credit cards, warranty certificates);
3. Quality appraisal certificate from relevant departments;
4. Evidence of personal and property infringement and damage consequences;
5. Evidence that the transporter and warehouser are responsible for the timely completion of the property and person of others.
6. Other evidence.
After investigation, once the operator complies with the complaints and reports, in addition to bearing the corresponding civil liability, if there are other regulations, they shall be implemented in accordance with the regulations.
Where there are no provisions in laws and regulations, the administrative department for industry and commerce or other relevant administrative departments shall order it to make corrections.
Depending on the circumstances, warnings may be imposed, confiscation of illegal gains, or a fine of more than 1 and less than 10 times the illegal gains may be imposed;
If there is no illegal income, a fine of not more than 500,000 yuan shall be imposed;
If the circumstances are serious, it shall be ordered to suspend business operations for rectification, and its business license shall be revoked.
